Silhouette Dresses ("we", "us", "our") operates silhouettedresses.com and a retail boutique at 11 Arch Place, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

When you place an order, book an appointment, request alterations, sign up for our rewards program, join our email or text list, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and the details of your order or appointment.

Measurements and fitting notes. If we alter a gown for you, we keep the measurements and fitting notes needed to complete the work and to help with future alterations.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. We do not store your full card number. We may see the last four digits, card type, and whether a payment succeeded.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.

  • To process and ship orders, and to place special orders with our designers
  • To schedule appointments and complete alterations
  • To run our Crown Club rewards program and apply points and rewards to your account
  • To respond to questions and provide customer service

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the business, including with:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes payments
  • Shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx and USPS, to deliver your order
  • Our designers and suppliers, when a gown is ordered or shipped directly for you
  • Service providers that support email, text messaging, reviews, analytics and our rewards program
  • Authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights

Photographs

We sometimes photograph gowns, fittings, and events for our website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear, tell any member of our team and we will respect that. If a photograph of you has already been published and you would like it removed, contact us and we will take it down.

Marketing and your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any message, or reply STOP to marketing texts. You will still receive messages about orders and appointments you have with us.

Your rights

You may ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, including under Maryland and other state privacy laws, you may also have the right to opt out of certain sharing of your information for advertising purposes. Some information must be kept for a period of time to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, and we may be unable to delete it until that period ends.

Our website is intended for adults. We often serve younger customers shopping for prom, homecoming and pageants, and in those cases we ask that a parent or guardian place the order and provide any information needed.
